An inspired cause..

Through Erin's tangle- Charlie.

Yes, Diva has chosen Erin's Charlie as this week's UMT challenge, and I wish to use this medium to inspire some of you for a cause. But, first my response to the challenge no. 157. Here it is:

So, do let me know if you liked it.

And now the inspired cause:

8th March will be celebrated as 'International Women's Day' to empower women. However, even today, in some pockets of India there are shameful practices being perpetuated in some traditional temples. Very young girls (at the age of 6 - 7 years) are offered to the temple deity as life long 'Devadasi', meaning servant of the God/Goddess. But in reality the girls are converted into local sex worker by the local community. These women remain in abject poverty, so that they continue to remain part of the 'devadasi' system. Good Samaritans are helping these women to come out of this spiral and rehabilitate in an honorable manner.

In support of such efforts I have written an appeal for help. Please click here to know more about this appeal.

Thanking you in anticipation of your generosity.

  1. A most notable cause, Dilip - one still needed throughout the world in many places, unfortunately. My friend works in this area and has just returned from India - full of joy at improvements and deep frustrations at the great distance still needed to be covered.
Your tile is beautiful, softening Charlie in a subtle and elegant manner.

Your comments are most welcome. Remember, a thought shared is an expansion of knowledge through many. Thank you.
