..is one step before fruiting!
Diva's challenge no. 165 is an UMT called Camelia, named after a flower called Camellia. What a lovely flower it is!

Here is my response to the challenge:

Earth Day 2014..

..was celebrated yesterday, for the 44th time!

Yes, the first such celebration took place in 1970. However, only in the last few years the gravity of the situation is being felt, and again by a very few people.

Diva's challenge no. 164 prompts us to look at this very important subject through zentangle. Here is my response:

Here is a short video on the theme for this year..

How I wish the video had also proposed the need for reducing/refusing excess material consumption as part of the solution.

What is your opinion?

Life After Sixty...

..A Second Innings.

Last month one of our friends here in India turned 60. He organised his re-marriage with his own spouse, and it is not an idiosyncrasy! It is a ritual with many sections of the Hindu society. What does it mean?

That a new facet of life unfolds at 60?
That a new, a different kind of commitment to your spouse begins?
That life is not yet over?

Rick, the co-creator of Zentangle turned 60 a few weeks ago, and the Zentangle World got a new tangle in his honor called RIXTY!

Life after sixty has much more to offer. The fruits of the seeds you may have sown in the first innings of your life have to come during the second innings! Enjoy them. Be happy.

Here is Z-Inspiration's response to the Diva's challenge no. 163.

And on the topic of happiness, all I have to say to the '60' club members is,

Remain relevant to your society, remain grateful to your spouse, remain free from complaining, and happiness can not but stay with you. What is your experience? Please leave behind your thoughts.

Initial need not be...

Final.

Diva's challenge no. 162 calls upon to use your 'initial' as a string. I have changed my initial, especially for zentangles, and the same has been used in my post at 'Things Often Speak to Me'. So, here I am choosing to use my earlier initial for a string.

My tile contains both of my initials.

And now let me go back to my favorite subject on this blog - happiness.

How does one's initial connect with his/her state of mind, and hence, his/her happiness parameters?
Does the shape, size or boldness of  initial reveal one's ego?
Does the absence of initial on one's art form convey any thing?

I have no answers to these questions, but they do intrigue me. What do you have to say?

M is for Money...

...And also for Mahatma Gandhi.

Linked to ABC Wednesday.

In India, it is a great contradiction that people carry Gandhi power in the form of money...

One of the most fiercely fought 6 weeks long process of  general elections has just begun and we do not know how much of Gandhi (currency notes) power will be used to hide the truth...

M G must be very uneasy, where ever he is..

Flower Of Life...

..is what Malathi informs me is 'quandary' in zentangle.

I am also told that it was through a book on Sacred Geometry, the 'Flower of Life' is part of which, that Rick and Maria came closer to each other. And there for, the birth of Zentangle itself  is owed to the flower of life.
But before I take off to my favorite topic of 'happiness' on this blog, let me present my response to Diva's challenge no 161. Hope you like it.

Flower of Life/Quandary

And now, let me play around with some words here, and continue with my reflections on 'happiness'.
We have come across these two terms- Early Flowering, and, Late Blooming in life. Both occurrences have made their mark on the well being, and there for, happiness factors of mankind. People who work in the fields of science and technology usually flower early. All the inventions and discoveries in the World have taken place during the earlier part of the lives of their respective scientists.  Where as philosophers, wise people, social reformers have usually bloomed late in their lives. The inventions and discoveries have certainly impacted our lives in a big way, but it has also fanned lust for material, greed and selfishness, all of which contribute to dissatisfaction/ unhappiness in lives. The wise men, on the other hand, have helped people to look within, see the life with different perspectives, and derive satisfaction/ happiness with life.

What is your opinion? Do leave behind your thoughts.
